Four perfect outfits for spring

Updated: Apr 1, 2020

Looking to revamp your Spring wardrobe but are not sure where to start?

According to fashion expert Todd Anthony at The Masters Institute of Creative Education this Spring brings about a new wave of experimentation regarding fashion.“A play on role reversals within nature. Pairing soft, feminine, organic, fabrications with tougher more masculine, industrial accessories. “Floral for spring? ALWAYS, this time we are putting our florals into innovated dress silhouettes,” he says. The top four dress silhouettes for Spring season are:

The two-in-one dress, as worn by Lara Worthington, this dress is a blend between the sport-inspired dresses and the feminine, soft, off the shoulder floral spring dresses of last year, we see the two-in-one dress takeover. Conceptual shoulder cutouts paired with asymmetrical draped shapes and mixed matched prints, creating the visual illusion of wearing more than one garment. Suitable for any occasion where a girl wants to look as though she has had five seconds to dress but still look very cool. A tinder date with a boy at the skate ramp on Saint Kilda beach.

The overlay bodycon and the ruffle dress as worn by Brooke Hogan becomes the double layered bodycon. Suitable for every spring party from your cocktail on the rooftop to the soon to come Christmas function. You will want to get caught kissing your colleague in the cupboard wearing an overlay bodycon this season. So what is it? A standard form-fitting bodycon that has a sheer overlay wither draped or gathered on top. The sheer fabric adds a new touch of glamour to a comfortable form controlling garment.

As worn by Teigan Martin the ruffle dress is this Spring’s top buy. Yes, we have seen the ruffled dress before, so what’s new this season? This year the focus is totally about the ruffle. Cleaner silhouettes with all the attention on one large sculptural ruffle, usually placed asymmetrically. These dresses are for the more sophisticated spring time lady. Usually made in double bonded jersey, these dresses are appropriate for that fine dining dinner date on the river with Mr Spring time big spender.

The deconstructed dress as worn by Jessie Haberman, designers are utilising the wrap and creating a new innovated deconstructed appearance. Asymmetry is the key for this silhouette. Designers are using a combination of both woven and knit fabrications to create a worked in look. This dress is for your springtime fashion-forward gal. She is the person the people watchers are grateful for. Perfect for that gallery opening event where you know he is going to be there, but he hasn’t met you yet.
